What edibles are helpful for RA pain and sleep?

It's great that you're already using turmeric, ginger, olive oil, and fish oil - those are all beneficial for RA inflammation. For additional relief, some people with RA have found success with CBD (cannabidiol) products where legal.

What edibles are helpful for RA pain and sleep?

It's great that you're already using turmeric, ginger, olive oil, and fish oil - those are all beneficial for RA inflammation. For additional relief, some people with RA have found success with CBD (cannabidiol) products where legal.

A myRAteam member shared keeping "a CBD vape next to my bed and use it whenever I wake up," while another found success using "prescription cannabis at night and CBD during the day." One person mentioned that hemp gummies "didn't relieve my pain but helped with anxiety and level of calm."

CBD doesn't cause the "high" associated with marijuana. Some studies suggest it may help relieve RA symptoms including pain, anxiety, and poor sleep, though more research is needed. Keep in mind that CBD isn't FDA-regulated and legality varies by state. Beyond edibles, you might consider these additional approaches for pain relief:

* Capsaicin creams (from hot peppers) - provides a numbing effect when applied topically
* Heating pads or warm compresses - moist heat penetrates deeply
* Cold therapy
* Over-the-counter pain relief creams and patches
* Physical therapy

A myRAteam member noted about capsaicin: "I kind of like capsaicin - the little bit of 'heat' I feel from applying it feels good!"

Since you're on hydroxychloroquine and prednisone, definitely discuss any new supplements or CBD products with your rheumatologist to avoid interactions. They can also evaluate if your current treatment plan needs adjustment since you're still experiencing significant pain after a few months.

I have every kind of arthritis. My hands are crippled I have 2 or 3 kinds for my hands. Elbows, wrists back ankles (replaced) shoulders have been gone for a while. Knees but they won’t do anything. If I stand my knee will drop me so I have my power chair right behind me. Just in case. I laugh a lot. Love taking to others. This all helps me.
