I will be starting Remicaid beginning of December. This will be my first time having infusion treatments. Any advice or tips? Also, if you take it how does it work for you? Humira worked good for a couple of years and then stopped. I have had allergic reactions to cimzia and simponi recently. Pretty scared and worried, but I’m hoping Remicaid will help me.
Hi Dawwmichelle,
I had that probldm too, but mine was Oresia wich I took for 7 years and it stopped working. I also took Humira and it didn't help. My advice is plan on not doing anything that day. It may get you tiered and make that day for you. If you have kids make sure you get a babysitter. That has to be your day.
My Dr. put me on Methotrexate in wish I ended in the ER for excursated pain. My muscles hurt and I was nausea 😵 too. I was in tears and that for me that was bad, I can take alot of pain 😢 but I was over 10. More like 15on the recter scale....lol. I m getting a second opinion with other Rhumotoligist tomorrow. It took me 3 years for me to get pain medication. I moved from California and I ended going to the ER every time I needed something for pain. I went there so much people started to know me. Let me know how it goes please.
Have a good night 😴 🥱 🌃 🌙 ✨️ my WARRIOR
I have been on Remicade for almost 2 yrs. Your dosage can be increased unlike other infusions. Drawback it takes two hours. It helped, but now has stopped. I have been on several different infusions and they help. But then stop. Hope it's helpful for you.😊
I also was allergic to simponi infusion. I’ve been taking Actemra infusions for a year and a half. No reactions either. The first couple of times will make you pretty tired. So for sure plan on sleeping a lot got up to 3 days Also make sure you are really hydrated the day of and drink lots of water after also. I lost my appetite also for a few days. Plan on easy meals. Soup etc. don’t try to force your body just do what it wants you to. I used humors. It was my first medication for RA. It plateaued fast. Simponi was my second. Renvoque my third and Actemra is my now infusion. It has worked the best! Side effects wear off as you get the infusion’s usually. Lots of luck.!! 💜
What advice or tips do you have for starting Remicade infusions, and how does it work for others?
It's completely understandable to feel nervous about starting your first infusion treatment, especially after experiencing allergic reactions to other biologics. Here's what you can expect and some tips to help:

Hi Dawnmichelle! I've been on Remicade for 15 years taking an infusion every 8 weeks. My body tells me when it's almost 8 weeks for the next infusion. In addition I take hydroxychloroquin daily and methotrexate once a week. It's a good regimen for me.
I wish you the best as you change your medication.
