I have never really been able to write for an extended amount of time throughout school. Even just after a couple of minutes, my hands will be in pain. Does anyone have any tips or products that could possibly reduce the amount of pain that writing causes me to feel? I know there are some ergonomic pens and stuff, but I don’t have the money to buy multiple different things just to try out and possibly not work for me.

• Record lectures on your phone instead of taking handwritten notes
• Keep a voice journal instead of writing
• Use heat therapy like warm water soaks before writing tasks
• Practice gentle hand exercises during study breaks
• Ask your school's disability services office about accommodations like note-taking assistance or extended time for written exams

Remember to talk to your rheumatologist about your writing challenges, as they may be able to adjust your treatment plan or provide a referral to an occupational therapist who can suggest personalized solutions.
