The Show Full Answer

Yes, many people with RA experience feeling overheated and excessive sweating, even during light physical activities like making a bed. This can happen along with fatigue, which is one of the most prominent symptoms of RA. Some people report feeling "burning up" internally, even when they don't feel hot to the touch.

The exact cause isn't fully understood, but it may be related to how RA inflammation affects the brain's ability to regulate body temperature. Here are some tips to help manage overheating during activities:

• Wear layers that you can remove as needed
• Take cool breaks or rest periods
• Stay hydrated with cold beverages
• Take a cool shower after physical activity
• Plan more strenuous activities for cooler times of day

Remember to pace yourself and listen to your body - if making the bed or other tasks are causing overheating and fatigue, it's okay to take breaks or spread the activity out over a longer period.

Yes, I do all the time. Either I feel like I'm burning up & sweating or I'm freezing. Ever since being diagnosed it's been difficult dealing with my body not being able to regulate normal body temperature. When having flare-ups you can experience low grade fevers too & Prednisone can make it worse as well. And this is very different than the hot flashes I used to get from Menopause.

I experience sweating as well. It's weird how it doesn't take much. Yes, making my bed. And my toes and fingers will be so cold.
Being stuck in the house is no fun. Have to cover from head to toe. The sun is not for us. No matter the temperature. If the sun is shinning we have to stay out of it.
