I totally understand. My pain doctor said I need to take more muscle relaxers. I did add one more a day he's right it keeps me from neck and shoulders keeping me down. He knows I won't take the strong stuff. Sometimes with surgeries only the first day or 2. I have tramadol I don't take everyday but sometimes I do. Sometimes I have to take more. Make sure you have a primary that will help you or a pain doc . Everyone's different so you know how much you hurt. Please don't minimize it when your talking to the doc. Good luck to you!

Managing RA pain effectively requires honest communication with your healthcare provider about your symptoms. You shouldn't feel obligated to prove yourself to others or feel guilty about needing pain relief. If you're feeling uncomfortable at the pharmacy, consider asking about mail-order prescriptions or using drive-through services. It's also perfectly fine to keep your pain management private - you don't need to explain your medical decisions to everyone. Consider connecting with others who understand what you're going through, like support group members who can relate to your experiences.
