I'm on Xeljanz, worked really well for me for 2 years, now starting to feel it's waning. I also take methotrexate. It's a nice alternative to infusions, especially if Pfizer assistance is available to you.

Xeljanz (tofacitinib) is an oral medication taken as a tablet either once or twice daily that can be taken with or without food. It's typically prescribed for people with moderate to severe RA who haven't responded well to or can't tolerate methotrexate. Many myRAteam members have discussed their experiences with Xeljanz. The medication works by targeting specific proteins called JAK1, JAK2, and JAK3 that are involved in inflammation, rather than suppressing the entire immune system. This targeted approach helps reduce potential side effects while still effectively treating RA symptoms. If you're considering Xeljanz, it's worth discussing with your rheumatologist about whether it might be right for you, especially if other treatments haven't provided adequate relief. Remember that medication responses can vary significantly from person to person.
