Thanks Michelle for your response...it was very informative. Both my RA and primary doctors are great. Since my RA has been pretty stable, I only see the RA doctor every 6 months but have blood work done every three months. The tinnitus can drive me a little crazy. You mentioned yours comes and goes? I didn't realize that can happen. I did go to the ENT office and basically it was a waste of my time. They told me to take riboflavin and come back in a year. I'm looking forward to seeing my RA doctor...I have a lot of questions for my RA doctor!

Hi Adriana, I have a very low WBC as well which has been caused by RA & the RA medications I'm on. My RA doctors monitor it frequently to make sure it doesn't continue to go lower & also said it could be my new normal. Unfortunately this means you have a weaker immune system & could be more susceptible to infections. Any time you have questions or concerns you should always feel comfortable enough with your RA doctors to reach out & not wait until your next appointment. My RA doctors told me I can call anytime or ask to move an appointment up sooner to be seen. In the past 6 months I started out with Prednisone after being diagnosed then switched to 3,000mg oral Sulfasalazine with 4 mg oral Folic Acid to prevent side effects, added Methotrexate injection once a week going from 15mg to 25mg, & also just added Biologic TNF Inhibitor Simponi Aria IV infusion which I just started with my first dose, then will have my 2nd dose in 4 weeks, & then will go every 8 weeks. I do get tinnitus occasionally as well. RA inflammation can affect your inner ear sometimes causing tinnitus & vertigo. Since you already have an RA doctor it's best to reach out to him/her as they are the RA specialists unlike your primary doctor. Hoping you have a great RA doctor.
