Yes, pins and needles sensations (also called peripheral neuropathy) are experienced by many people with RA. This can include prickling feelings in the skin, painful or unusual sensations, and sometimes muscle weakness. For people with RA, these symptoms typically appear on both sides of the body and can affect both upper and lower limbs. If you're taking methotrexate and develop tingling or numbness, it's important to notify your healthcare provider right away. These sensations can sometimes be side effects of medication that need prompt attention. Your doctor can evaluate the cause and work with you to find the right treatment approach.
