Just had blood test and have been told that nothing is showing, even though my joints feel red hot , i.e hip knee and thumb . I was thinking of stopping the Methotrexate.Has anyone got any advice ref this
I have seronegative RA which means that NOTHING shows up on my blood tests. Ask your Rheumatologist if you might have seronegative RA.
I'm in the same boat I'm seronegative!
I am RA seronegative, with sjogens, fibromyalgia, osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis. I originally had an extremely high ANA test but the rest was normal. Since I have had some other high numbers but not RA. My rheumatologist said if it quacks like a duck and looks like a duck, it's a duck! Lol...I like that analogy.
It's important not to stop taking methotrexate without discussing it with your doctor first. Even if blood tests aren't showing inflammation, your symptoms are real and valid. Stopping methotrexate suddenly can increase your risk of RA flares, which could make your symptoms worse.
