yes, when we tried the medication I had issues with eyes getting blurry. I thought it was my glasses at first but it was actually the medication itself.

Hi Hilary, I haven’t taken this medication. I’ve been on mtx for almost 4 years. Lately my blood work numbers have been off. So far my dr has been adjusting the mtx dosage. If blood work issues continue this is the medication she said I should consider. I’m very interested to hear others responses. Hope today is being kind to you 🤗

Sulfasalazine can cause side effects. Here are some common and serious side effects:

Common Side Effects:
- Yellow or orange discoloration of urine or skin
- Diarrhea
- Headache
- Loss of appetite
- Upset stomach
- Vomiting
- Stomach pain

Serious Side Effects
- Rash, hives, itching, or peeling or blistering skin

Serious Side Effects:
- Rash, hives, itching, or peeling or blistering skin
- Swelling of the eyes, face, lips, tongue, mouth, or throat
- Difficulty breathing or swallowing
- Swollen glands
- Fever, sore throat, chills, cough, night sweats, and other signs of infection
- Pale skin, tiredness, or shortness of breath
- Joint or muscle aches
- Yellowing of the skin or eyes
- Pain in the right upper part of the stomach
- Difficult or painful urination or cloudy, discolored, or bloody urine
- Chest pain
- New or worsening cough
- Unusual bleeding or bruising
- Weakness
- Seizures

If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking sulfasalazine and contact your doctor immediately.

That’s interesting because that also happened to me along with a host of other things. I was on Sulfasalazine right at the beginning when I was diagnosed with RA but now I’m not tolerating it at all.
