Etanercept can have a range of side effects. Here are some potential side effects based on my knowledge base:

- Common Side Effects:
- Redness, itching, pain, swelling, bleeding, or bruising at the injection site.

- Serious Side Effects
- Seizures
- Easy bruising or bleeding
- Pale skin

- Pain in the upper right part of the stomach
- Rash, hives, itching, swelling of the eyes, face, lips, tongue, or throat
- Difficulty breathing or swallowing
- Shortness of breath
- Swelling of the feet, ankles, or lower legs
- Rash on the face and arms that worsens in the sun
- Numbness or tingling
- Vision changes or problems
- Weakness in the arms or legs
- Dizziness
- Red, scaly patches or pus-filled bumps on the skin

Adults receiving etanercept may also be at a greater risk of developing lymphoma or leukemia.

If you experience any severe side effects, contact your doctor immediately. Always discuss any concerns with your healthcare provider to determine the best course of action for your RA treatment.

Angela, I've read on here from some of the team members that sometimes after years sometimes their meds just quit working and they have to move in to another drug.
