My mum has to switch as the NHS have changed it. They’ve said there should be no difference or side effects during the switch but she is very anxious about it. She was diagnosed with RA over 20 years ago at 29 years old, so she has had many changes in medication, I think it’s just frustrating for her. I just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with it so I can reassure her. Thanks :)
Hi Kai,
I have not. However, this change sounds like it is a name brand to generic change, to save on cost. May I suggest, keep a journal of any changes, if they occur and let her Rheumatologist and her Pharmacist know right away. Sometimes they can switch it back on a case by case basis.
My Mom could only take the brand name on several meds, but we had to "prove" it first. I hope this helps.
This is really helpful, thank you so much.
