I came across a video from Dr Steve Gundry on the benefits of prebiotics/ probiotics. Of course he has a product to sell so I’m doing further research. Has anyone tried a butyrate product? Did you find it made a difference in your general well being?

Members shared mixed experiences with butyrate and probiotic supplements, with many expressing skepticism about products marketed by online health personalities like Dr. Gundry, emphasizing the importance of evidence-based recommendations from trusted medical professionals rather than unverified claims. Several members found relief through probiotics recommended by their doctors or dieticians, particularly for gut health and IBS symptoms, while others reported that supplements made little difference compared to eating whole foods rich in prebiotics and probiotics. A recurring theme was the value of working with university-affiliated dieticians and rheumatologists who can provide personalized, science-backed guidance on supplements that won't interfere with RA medications.

I have been taking a probiotic for over a year and it has helped me; I even sleep a little better. I take Methotrexate, folic acid and Nabumetone for my RA and Vitamin D along with Prolia injections twice a year for Osteoporosis.
I had my ankle replacement surgery in April and started therapy three week's ago. It is going to take up to a year to fully recover, but I can now walk with my small brace and a cane when outside. My ankle was shot, no cartilage and bone on bone. If anyone has questions about that surgery, feel free to ask.
Stay cool!

Veronica mostly it is what Gundry does that is not evidenced based he puts his claims out there and people hook line and sinker take the bait. I more focused on his claims. My dietician said with autoimmune she recommended pro biotic of 50 million, omega 3 fatty acid, multiple vitamin with iron and all that is expensive $$$$

I found a product online called Emma to solve my GI issues. I showed it o my gastroenterologist and she said it is GOOD Stuff and wrote it down. I just know it works for me. I also take colesevalem prescribed by her. When you have one autoimmune disease you can have many .I also have HS , Hydrodenitis Supporativa. I got the trifecta! I am looking forward to cortisone shots for my hip and knee next week before I go to Europe on a 17 day cruise. I picked the less strenuous excursions in each country but It will be difficult and painful at times. I just want to do as much as I can, while I can.

I also take a probiotic. Pretty sure my messed up gut was the start of all my problems. It has helped but I would never buy from on line Gundry . If you have a local health store start there
