Steroids work quickly for my inflammation too. But I have osteoporosis so, can't have them very often.

When I go for scopes or surgery, after anesthesia I feel great. No pain for like 24 hours. I dont know what they gave me to put me under but it worked great for my inflammation and osteo pain. Weird.

I have a love hate relationship with steroids. They make you feel better but, the side effects suck and not to mention the weight gain. I hope your feeling better Theresa and God bless y'all. πŸ™β€οΈ

Steroids thin your bones. Cause osteoporosis. That's why we shouldn't take them orally for very long. Or we can have them intravenously 3 to 4 times a year. Steroids also lowers one's immune response and leaves one vulnerable to infections. They work but for these reasons are a last resort to control inflammation.

In children, Steroids can affect bone growth.

Topical Steroids have drawbacks as well bc we absorb them. It thins skin, tissues and bones.
