Managing brain fog and forgetfulness can be challenging, but many have found helpful strategies to cope. Here are some tips:

1. **Use Memory Aids**: Keeping a calendar, writing notes, and setting reminders can help you keep track of important tasks and appointments. Many find that notepads and calendar apps are particularly useful.

2. **Stay Organized**: Organizing your space and keeping a routine can reduce the cognitive load, making it easier to remember and manage daily activities.

3. **Prioritize Sleep**: Ensuring you get enough rest can significantly impact your cognitive function and help reduce brain fog.

4. **Healthy Lifestyle**: Regular exercise, a balanced diet, and staying hydrated can improve overall brain health.

5. **Mindfulness and Relaxation**: Techniques such as deep breathing, meditation, or gentle yoga can help manage stress, which may in turn reduce brain fog.

6. **Break Tasks into Smaller Steps**: When overwhelmed, breaking tasks into manageable steps can help maintain focus and reduce forgetfulness.

7. **Avoid Pain Triggers**: Since pain can exacerbate brain fog, avoiding activities that worsen your RA pain might help improve cognitive clarity.

Remember, you're not alone in this. Many others with RA experience similar challenges, and sharing tips and experiences can be incredibly supportive. How does everyone else manage their brain fog and forgetfulness?

To add to that I also use small dry erase boards with notes for the week.

It is so hard. Some days I can't keep a thought in my head for more than 3 seconds. I am handling it by writing everything down. I have a calendar with a month spread for appointments, and then several pages divided for each date in the month. That's where I put things I need to do, notes, things I need to remember. I have a system for checking off things I've done, things that have been changed to be done on a different day, and things I still need to do. It isn't perfect, but the more I write down, the less worried I am I will forget something because I wrote it down. Gentle hugs!
