Hi Beth I had the same problem on methotrexate I've been off it for years and am on Orencia and still have hair loss and a sore , itchy scalp! I heard RA itself can cause hair loss.❤️

Hi Beth had the same problem as well as intense itching on my scalp. I told her in person. She upped the dose. I messaged her through the portal and asked to be removed from this med. could not tolerate the itching and pain. Only on plaquenil now. Still dealing with itching scalp pain and thin hair about 3 weeks after stopping the med. was on it about 2 months.
I’m going to the dermatologist tomorrow to check the scalp. See what they can do.

Talk to the doctor now. The negatives of methotrexate outweighed the positives for me. We are all different. I wish you the best.

Ohh thank you for that tip, Bubbles1959! Yes i dont want to stop MTX. I did in late Nov thru all of Dec and i often had flareups. I think the castor oil sounds like a good idea! Right now hair fall is everywhere and it’s really annoying lol! I’m ready to get a hair net for cooking haha!

Hi Bev! Me too! Went to dermatologist today. Said a little bit of redness and thinning. Hair loss test negative. She said if I see bald patches let her know. Got a medicated shampoo and a topical. Waiting for script to be filled. Hope you are doing well today!
