Yes, rheumatoid arthritis (RA) can indeed have an impact on oral health, including teeth and gums. While the context provided doesn't specifically mention dental issues, it's known that individuals with RA may experience a higher risk of oral health problems, such as periodontal (gum) disease. This is partly due to the inflammation associated with RA, which can also affect the tissues around the teeth. If you or someone you know is dealing with RA and experiencing dental issues, it's important to maintain good oral hygiene and consult with a dentist who can provide personalized care and advice.

The older I get, and the worse my RA gets, I'm finding more 'associated' illnesses. I am having issues with teeth and gums right now, but I am also facing shoulder replacement surgery next week, that means no dental work til I'm on the road to recovery. Teeth are real soft, they are cracking and falling apart. I also have Sjogren's which adds to the dental problem. Can't win!!

Antihistamines were causing gum bleeds for me. I would not be surprised to learn anything causing a problem. During a checkup I had a couple days ago a crown I had was discovered to have a crack? In 2 days I got it replaced, my insurance doesnt cover it. So the new porcelain crown I got on Monday is now something I get to pay out of pocket ($2k, the tooth also had a cavity)... I need to keep track of the record for the royal tooth in my tax stuff.
