I took my first dose of RINVOK today and have been itchy. I am taking Benadryl. Is this common? Will my body get used to it? I don't have any other side effects.

I loved rinvoq as felt better by 3rd day. Been on 9 mos now and think have to change as 2 months ago joint under thumb but between wrist on both hands is now protruding. 1st obvious joint destruction in 15 yrs. My lg joints are gone...knees, shoulders, hips, si joints, even the bones in my ears flare. I have bunions & tailor bunions too. But as far as my hands went nope no little joint destruction which I knew would happen last as I had palindromic ra. My tendons & ligaments are ruined. I get vasculitis...alot. I would give a few days unless like hives... my worst complaint was the fatigue & I switched from am to pm dosing because of it. And now this. It did lower my crp from 14 to 7 in 3 months tho.

I have been on rinvoq since September last year. I never experienced itching. I was told by my doctor that itching with another drug I took was maybe an allergic reaction. Please monitor it.
Rinvoq starting working in just a few days for me. Best I've felt since diagnosis. No side effects.

I don’t take that medication but it seems like when I am starting to get inflammation, I itch in that spot something terrible. I was going to ask if anyone itches with this disease. Also, does anyone sweat profusely? It seems like everyday my face gets dripping wet and also my hair gets wet. It is so strange. My feet and hands will be freezing, yet my face is hot.

Rinvoq (Upadacitinib) is a medication approved for treating moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis in adults. It is a Janus kinase inhibitor and is believed to work by blocking enzymes that lead to inflammation. While itching is not listed as a common side effect of Rinvoq, rheumatoid arthritis itself can cause itching attacks. If you're experiencing itching, it could be related to the RA rather than the medication, but it's important to discuss any new or worsening symptoms with your healthcare provider.
