Hello β˜• Friday

We're less then a week away from Thanksgiving. This years' holiday is extra special for me because after years of family research I was able to collect all the paperwork that proved our branch is related to 2 Pilgrams off the Mayflower. πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

Will you be making any special arrangements for your Self this Holiday? Like - I bring my own food to ensure I won't have a flare later. This way the people preparing the meal don't extra work trying to follow my needs.

Blessings

Members warmly shared their Thanksgiving traditions, favorite dishes, and how they adapt the holiday to fit their needs and health challenges. A recurring theme was gathering with loved ones in meaningful ways, whether hosting big family dinners, keeping it small and simple, or trying new dishes like duck breast or pumpkin gnocchi instead of turkey. Many members also touched on the bittersweet side of the holiday, honoring those who have passed by saving a seat at the table, sharing family history, and finding gratitude even through grief and health struggles.

It's just my adult son and myself. Every year we figure out who's going to make what, it's split about 50/50 and we ALWAYS argue who's going to make the green bean casserole. My son aways makes the pies because I suck at pie crusts.

Then we eat, clean up and do whatever. Him: normally video games. Me: normally sewing. Until we're hungry again. lol

We do the regular Thanksgiving spread of turkey or ham, potatoes/gravy, sweet potatoes, dressing, green bean casserole, rolls, pumpkin pie/whipped topping, and Tums/Rolaids.

It's pretty much the same for Christmas too.

My older brother and I will be cooking. Paper plates.

Movie: Trains, Planes and Automobiles is a yearly tradition.

Nancy,
Me too! I am related to Elizabeth Tillie and John Howland, from the Mayflower.
There is just me and my daughter this year, so a small meal with Cornish game hen, stuffing, cranberry sauce, acorn squash and pumkin pie.
Happy Thanskgiving to all!
