Members shared advice for managing hair thinning caused by methotrexate, with the most consistent recommendation being to take folic acid daily, with dosages ranging from standard amounts to higher doses on injection days, and several members found that adding biotin helped regrow hair after a few months. Many community members described practical hair care strategies that helped reduce further loss, including massaging the scalp to stimulate follicles, washing hair less frequently, air drying instead of blow drying, using cool water rinses, and applying coconut oil. A recurring theme was the importance of staying hydrated, eating nutrient-rich foods like apples and avocados, and giving any supplement time to work, with members encouraging patience as visible results often took several months to appear.

Hi Joyce, I’ve experienced thinning hair 🤪 I take folic acid daily. Started taking biotin and it has helped. Took a few months but it seems to be working. Also I rarely use a blow dryer. Just air dry

Ask your doctor for leucovarin and folic acid. B complex also helps with hair thinning
