I just read up on it. AIP is difficult to diagnose. In type 1 aip the disease may affect other organs. In type 2 aip only affects the pancreas but about one third of people have associated inflammatory bowel disease. Apparently alcohol abuse and or gallstones are the cause . There is a really good article on May clinic website.
