I get gel injections every 6 months. They help me. I went to a different doctor this last time and she just shot the whole thing in my (swollen) knees without any kind of guidance! It was awful especially on my left knee which was worse. I couldn't stand on it and had to limp out of the office. It took a couple of days before I felt better. My other doctor used ultrasound to guide the needle to where it needed to be. I had no problems with that. Obviously, there was some pain, but it was tolerable. I told my pain management doctor and he said he uses an xray type monitor for guidance. Needless to say, I'm going to him to him the next time. Did you get any relief from them? How long has it been since you got them? Did your doctor use any kind of guidance?
