It never occurred to me that I needed to look into if I can color my hair while on methotrexate. I highlight it about 3 times a year but not since diagnosed and starting meds. Is this something I need to look into?

You should ask your hairdresser and of your rheumatologist. I take methotrexate (7.5 mg weekly), folic acid (1 mg daily) and humira (40 mg injection weekly). I have full blonde highlights done every 16 weeks, never a problem. However, Humira has made my hair a bit wavy. Prior to humira use, my hair was completely straight with no curl. My hairdresser indicated my hair is wave due to my humira which is a mab drug (low dose chemo). I do not know anything about luflunomide. Hope this helps.

I went to school for beautician so I learned anything you take internally will come out in hair and nails but I don't take that drug so I'm not sure how it effects hair. I take plenty of other meds though. I decided to stop dying several months ago. At least I have healthy hair now.
