I’m wondering if there might be a connection of some kind between the two of them. Has anyone else experienced anything like this or know anything about it? I would love to hear any comments about this.

Members connected over the question of whether ulnar drift in the fingers could be linked to the body leaning to one side, with the overwhelming consensus being that both are likely related to rheumatoid arthritis and balance issues rather than being directly connected to each other. Several members shared that balance problems are a common but often overlooked symptom of RA, and strongly encouraged exercises like standing on one leg, warm water aerobics, Tai Chi, and working with a physical therapist to strengthen stability and reduce falls. A recurring theme was the challenging reality of managing multiple overlapping conditions such as degenerative disc disease, osteoarthritis, scoliosis, and chronic pain, yet members offered fierce encouragement to keep moving when possible, lean on faith, and advocate persistently for proper imaging and specialist care even when the healthcare system feels slow or dismissive.

My 4 toes on my left foot are also drifting. My surgeon thinks it is due to RA. I was supposed to have them fixed but my surgery was cancelled as there were no beds in the hospital. I suspect your other symptom of leaning may be related to balance issues, also a symptom of RA. There are exercises and physio for the balance issue. A physio could also asses your hand. Best wishes Carol

Well I finally convinced my Rheumatologist that I needed a MRI done of my knee after asking him I don’t know how many times and I have some tears in it and a couple of cysts, couldn’t get in to see my new ortho doctor until the end of April but just found out that they had a ortho walk in clinic I can go to. Geez Louise why didn’t they tell me that weeks ago? I plain on going Monday after I saw my primary doctor. My husband is terminally ill and only has about 5 months left and I’ve been his primary caregiver! I know that God is with us and will be helping us down the path he has chosen for us. 🙏🙏

Good morning Foxy, It looks like we are all affected by the body changes of RA. I keep my heating pad or hot water bottle close by when this happens. Mine last a few days and I'm back. I'm praying that you find what works for you. Be blessed 🙏🫂
