I have RA and now that cooler weather is coming in I'm flaring more and seem to have fibromyalgia on top of that. Does anyone else have both? If so how are you treating it?

Members shared their experiences managing both rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia, with many noting that controlling RA symptoms often helps reduce fibromyalgia flares as well. Several members described their medication combinations, including biologics like Enbrel and Cimzia for RA, and Cymbalta, gabapentin, or Effexor for fibromyalgia pain and sleep, though some had to discontinue medications due to side effects. A recurring theme was the importance of non-medication approaches like daily stretching, gentle exercise, warm baths with Epsom salt, heating pads, massage therapy, meditation, and prioritizing quality sleep to manage pain and brain fog.

I've had Fibro for 30 years, just diagnosed with RA. For my Fibro I use self hypnosis and music. I also take Nortriptyline for sleep. I can deal way better with pain if I can sleep.

Yes and quite frustrating with this weather. All I can really do is be mindful of the activities and not push too hard. Meditation in the morning is the only thing that keeps from being a total grump all day. What are you doing that helps?

I have both conditions. I use the heating pad across my shoulders a lot! I also take almost hot baths with Epsom salt and soak for like 20 minutes

Thanks for the information. Massage does help me, and exercising when I can. Warm baths help too.
