Has anyone else suffered acute backache that you can get out of bed in the mornings? My GP has referred me back to my Rheumatologist. I also have Scoliosis of the spine. Any help would be useful please especially getting out of bed
Brigitte has your doctor sent you to occupational therapy? These type will give you all kinds of tips for caring for yourself and making every day life easier and more practical for your needs. Also, I got a posture brace that I wear for few hrs a day to help me out. Physical therapy and Hydro therapy is a must to maintain core strength so we don't stress our spine next hips. Everything's you do should be watched and coached by trained specialists so you dont cause damage to your joints and more pain. Many do not realize that proper supportive shoes are the basis for our entire skeletal systems support. Cheap shoes will NOT save us any money or painful issues. Wide toe box, orthotic insole, protective breathable outside. Leggings are less trouble to unfastened and shuck or pull up. They can provide some support too. Underwires always ate into me and caused welts. Cotton and natural fibers breathe, polyester and nylon do not. Laundry soaps and some softeners can cause hives, redness and itching. Sometimes even my perfumes do but not always. Depends on my meds I guess. RA meds can destroy your hair or make it fall out. Can increase or decrease appetite. IBS symptoms diarreah, constipation, cramps, gas, bloating... so far, steroid epidural and into my wrists work great for me. I get ischeal bursitis and sciatica. Have you tried those epidurals? Before you do the ablation ? If I didn't get relief with epidural I might resort to that too.
Hey Bridget! I have scoliosis in my thoracic area( mid back) with degenerative disc and pinched nerve! Right now on oxycodone, robaxin as well as RA meds. The Robaxin helps me somewhat function. My rhuematologist suggested nerve ablation in neck and low back. Looking for a pain specialist to get those. Hope you get some relief soon!
Have a lovely day sweetie!
Love, hugs and kisses

I also suffer from scoliosis and have constant pain, primarilyin my lower back. I went to an orthopedic specialist who said the osteoarthritis was very prevalent in my spine, as well as some bulging disks and I needed to see a pain specialist. I've had several deep injections in my back which has helped tremendously. Hopefully you can get some relief.
Thanks Jane🙂
