Probably but it all depends how your body responds. You may have to try more than one combination of drugs over the days/weeks/months/years. Best to follow the advice of your Rheumatologist. Mine usually says, well we can do this or we can do that, then he gives me time to research and make up my mind. Then when im ready, he writes a script and we start. I can go relatively pain/symptom free for long periods of time until I have a flare up.

Since 2016, I have been on multiple different drugs or combinations. Some meds my body won't tolerate, mainly intestinal upset. It's trial and error. After a while, your body can develop antibodies to the meds and they switch you to a different med.

In my experience, the drugs reduce the pain to “acceptable levels”. At some point, you grow accustomed to it and no longer notice it. Some day you will have a flare and you will be reminded of how awful it used to be before you were medicated.

The early days are the hardest because, it is scary that you have no idea what is in store for you, but hopefully things will settle down and you will adjust your life accordingly.

Take one day at a time, rest when you can, don’t push yourself too hard.

Remember, this is a real illness, it may be invisible to others, but for us who are living it, it is a life changing condition that is not going away soon.
