Members connected over the shared experience of foot pain and toe swelling, with many describing inflammation in the big toes, nodules, heel pain, and instability that limits mobility and work. Several members offered practical strategies for relief, including seeing a podiatrist for regular foot care, warm soaks with Listerine to soften skin, arthritis-specific footwear like SAS shoes, and avoiding surgery unless absolutely necessary due to inconsistent outcomes. A recurring theme was the importance of managing disease activity with a doctor when pain and swelling persist, as uncontrolled inflammation is often the root cause.

If you have a lot of pain and swelling, that usually means your disease is not well controlled. Talk to your doc.
