I've Been On Methotrexate For Over A Year, And Am Getting A Lot Of Mouth Lesions Which Are Like Cankar Sores On Steroids-very Painful.
Dr added folinic acid to counteract this side effect. Helped for several months, but now I've had 3 mouth lesions this month, one of which lasted 2 weeks. Any ideas? Seeing my rheumatologist next month. Thanks
Add vitamin D to your daily routine, a double dose to start with . My Dr told me I was extremely low on it and that contributed to the lesions.
There are some good mouth gels that numb the pain. Ask at the pharmacy.
I get them too. My doc upped my dose of folic acid and so I take it for 3 days after my methotrexate. I still get them but not as much.
