Members overwhelmingly encouraged someone with RA and COPD who was terrified about getting the COVID vaccine, sharing that they had received two or three doses with minimal side effects beyond a sore arm and occasional mild headache that resolved within 24 hours. Several members emphasized that the risk of contracting COVID without the vaccine far outweighs potential side effects, especially for those who are immunocompromised or high-risk, with some noting their doctors recommended a third booster dose specifically for immune system protection. A recurring theme was gentle reassurance that while fear is natural, the vaccine offers crucial protection when living with chronic conditions that make COVID particularly dangerous.

I have gotten the vaccine. My doctor sent me for THREE doses rather than two, the last one months after the first two, because I’m immunocompromised.

I have asthma and had no issues taking the Covid shot. They asked us to wait for about 15 minutes too. That was to make sure we didn't have a reaction. I hope that helps.
