Swelling,calves Painful,walking Is Hard

I've been taking Enbrel and methotrexate,Ivenoticeits efectiveness is declining. I also in left knee have Osteoarthritis and need surgery soon. For a few months I've noticed my calves feel heavy and it painful to walk the swelling never goes away,my feet hurt. Its getting harder and harder to walk very far. I think its time to look at other medications. Has anyone had symptoms like mine?

Back in the early 90's I was put on Methotrexate in pill form and went into remission for about 20 years. I had my right wrist fused in 94-95 around 5 years ago my RA came back with vengeance. While on a Motorcycle ride to the mountains in NM my left middle finger started to swell at the knuckle, nothing bad but when we got back to AR the pain increased to unbearable. I am also a type 1 Diabetic so I tried to stay away from bio drugs because of side effects. In 2007bi had 11 surgeries on my hands & fingers. 2 of the surgeries were joint replacements on that left middle finger, both failed due to surgeons inability to do the procedure correctly. Needless to say I don't trust them anymore . Now I can barely use my hands. I'm having to close my business down & my quality of life is almost 0 so I feel your frustration and pain. I had started Cimiza last year and it started to work within 2 weeks. But got a infection between 2 of my toes. Had to have the middle toe amputated about 1" past the toe which left a void on the ball of my foot which caused me to put more pressure on the outside of foot which created an ulcer on the ball. It will not heal so last Friday I had a Achilles release on the left leg so I wouldn't put all me weight on the ball. Go back Friday for first post surgery visit. I have lost so much weight that I look like a skeleton with skin. It is very hurtful to walk over 50 feet and at times even socks hurt my feet I guess from the pressure. I have very little cartridge left in both feet and can only bend my big toes now. Arthritis sucks. But I know that there are many people who are worse off than I am and I pray for them. I okay you find something that works well for you. Ask your Doctor about Cimiza. It is supposed to one of the safest bio's on the market. Hood luck. Mike

During a recent physical I complained that my lower legs were swollen and heavy. My PA ordered ultrasound and I was told I have a venus vein problem. The veins in my lower legs do not pump the blood up so therefor it pools. It is hard to walk too.
