Transporting Temperature Sensitive Medications

A myRAteam Member asked a question 💭
Webster, NY

Anyone know of a temperature-controlled case that can be used to safely transport medications? For example, something that could be used on a trip to keep medications like methotrexate at 68-77 degrees F. The closest thing I’ve seen online are cases for transporting insulin, but the temperature ranges are lower.

I would suggest asking the med company-they ship in temp controlled packaging-maybe they have something portable and smaller for you? They usually bend over backwards as they want to keepbtou on their meds. Good luck-there are so many cases for insulin and diabetic supplies-maybe one would fit your needs.

The instructions on my Methotrexate are to store below 25c and protect from light. I just keep mine in the fridge and if travelling I use a cool bag with an ice block
