Members shared widely varied experiences with methotrexate for rheumatoid arthritis, ranging from minor or no side effects after decades of use to serious complications including life-threatening bone marrow suppression, elevated liver enzymes, and persistent mouth sores. Several members found relief by switching from oral pills to subcutaneous injections, which bypassed stomach upset, while others ultimately moved to biologics like Enbrel or Orencia when side effects became too difficult to manage. A recurring theme was that each person's response to methotrexate is deeply individual, shaped by their unique biology, and that finding the right treatment often requires patience, close monitoring, and collaboration with medical teams.

I’m going to make it two for two here.
I was born with rheumatoid arthritis.
I’m going to be bias with my answer so prepare yourself!
Having worked my entire career in genetic engineering and been involved with the COVID-19 mRNA vaccinations, you have to understand that every single person on planet earth, now this part is my opinion alone, was designed by God so perfect and uniquely made that there has never been another person like YOU in the past 14 billion years (carbon dating) or will be another duplicate of YOU in the next 14 billion years!
Because of that, with all the multiple complex systems of the human body, the unique and individual immune system is going to have different responses to the present population of chronic disease suffers.
Having put you through that long winded story, I have been on methotrexate since it was first discovered to be a chemotherapy treatment for blood cancer decades ago.
Therefore after decades of being on methotrexate I too have had very minor side effects.
My point after giving this long dissertation is that you cannot expect to ever compare your self against anyone else because you are so uniquely and perfectly made that your response is going to be different than anyone else as a rule!
From a genetic engineering point of you, how could any two people have exactly the same outcome when there is no such thing as any two people exactly the same?
Just because most of us have two arms and two legs and two eyes at birth has nothing to do with any of us being the same.
Thank you for your indulgence and I apologize for the very painfully long answer to your question.

Ask your dr if you might take the methotrexate by injection instead of pills. It bypasses my stomach that way and no more tummy aches.

I developed mouth sores and taking folic acid did not prevent the side effect.
