I'm getting used to live in pain but the fatigue is hard. I get tired so easily and it take me so long to recover. Does anyone has any advice or feels the same way?

Members connected deeply over the shared struggle of living with rheumatoid arthritis fatigue, describing it as unrelenting, intense, and often more challenging than the pain itself, with many needing to nap during the day despite sleeping 8 to 10 hours at night. Several members shared practical strategies that have helped them manage, including resting without guilt, pacing activities throughout the day, staying hydrated, using ice or heat for swelling, considering medication adjustments like switching to Actemra or Rinvoq, and exploring pain management clinics that offer treatments beyond medication. A recurring theme was the importance of listening to your body, giving yourself permission to slow down, asking for help when needed, and holding onto hope that difficult flare days will eventually pass.

Yes it’s weird how we get use to the pain. But what can we do? I’m sure there are pain medications I refuse to take as I don’t want to end up being a junky! So I’ll stay with my ice/heating pad & take whatever comes my way.

I go to pain management. It's not all pain meds. They have different treatments to help manage the pain. I only take pain meds as a last resort. I'll keep you in my prayers. Love and hugs

I've had RA since 2013 & I am always tired. I am on my last year of working & will retire in November but not sure I'll make it. Sad when you sleep on your days off!

I do feel this same way. I have to take naps like a toddler even after sleeping 8-10 hours at night. The thing about RA fatigue is its unrelenting And intense like if i dont lay down when i need to, ill pass out. Literally. Havent found anything that helps. Im on adderal for my adhd and it helps some i swear if i wasnt on that id probably sleep all day and all night every single day.
