has anyone experienced a itchy rash that happens mostly when the RA meds are not working or not taking medication. It happens a lot on my hands but it happens on my back, shoulders, neck, arms.

Hi, I'm new here and this is one of my first responses. Hives are a common symptom of autoimmune diseases. I had hives, rashes, and itchiness inexplicably for years before I learned it was RA related. I just started taking methotrexate, and apparently one other reason it may be prescribed is for hives and rashes that haven't responded to other treatments. I thought for a long time they were due to allergies or stress. Benadryl would help, but it took longer to kick in. I was then prescribed klonopin and that would clear them up for a few hours as well. I hope you are able to notice triggers for them and get additional treatment for it. Best of luck!
