Does anyone have any good exercises/ tricks for dealing with siatica? My GP gave me a low dose of gabapentin but it isn't helping. I haven't been able to sleep for more than 2 hours at a time without waking up in pain from my Left buttock down to my left foot.

Members rallied around someone struggling with sciatica pain that was disrupting their sleep, offering a variety of practical relief strategies beyond medication. Several members recommended chiropractic care and deep tissue massage to release the sciatic nerve, specific stretches like a modified cross-legged forward fold to target the glutes, physical therapy for guided exercises, and self-care tools such as a tennis ball or foam roller to work along the nerve pathway. A recurring theme was finding non-pharmaceutical approaches, including therapeutic yoga, frequent walks, ice or heat therapy, and staying well-hydrated, with the community offering both encouragement and reassurance that relief is possible.

Okay let me see if I can explain how to stretch it. Okay you want to go into a cross legged potion but keep both feet in front of the other so you don't actually want them touching then you lean forward as if you are doing the butterfly. You will feel a stretch in your gluteus. Also a good massage therapist will no how to release the sciatic. It will get better I promise... God Bless

I had a session of deep tissue massage at the Chiropractor before. I would visit with yours if you have one, or your doctor. Lord, you don't want it to get worse.

Thank you so much, I actually have a foam roller so I will try that! Also went to the Chiropractor for the first time and got some relief. Appreciate your advice.

Put a tennis ball under your buttocks at nerve (sciatic) set or lie on till it works and it has good results. Dose of Tylenol good water intake. Sometimes play with rolling alone route of nerve.
