Members shared mixed experiences with Enbrel, Humira, and Xeljanz for rheumatoid arthritis treatment, with many finding initial success followed by diminishing effectiveness over time, ranging from months to as long as 18 years. Several members described practical strategies including keeping a detailed medication journal, combining Xeljanz with methotrexate for better results, and working with their rheumatologist to switch medications when one stops working, with newer options like Rinvoq, Orencia, and Actemra also showing promise for some. A recurring theme was the deeply personal nature of medication response, with members emphasizing patience, self-advocacy with insurance companies, and remembering that what works wonderfully for one person may not work at all for another.

Walk,
Welcome!
I tried Enbrel and Humeria and failed both. I am in my second year of remission on XeljanzXR. Now having said that, please remember that each of us responds differently to the medications. We may or may not have reactions, the meds may work for some time, then just quit working. I suggest you keep a journal of date, time, med, and any effects, then go over this information with your Rheumatologist.
I hope this helps.

I was on Enbrel and the only side effect was injection site irritation but after about 3.5 years it quit working. Now I am on Xeljanx and I love it. No side effects and it work really well most of the time.

I have been on Humira for 2 and 1/2 years now with wonderful results. AbVie covers it 100% for me. I haven't had a flair since. What a huge difference in my life! Good luck!
