I take Humira to control my RA and we know the drug and disease both compromise the immune system. I am scheduled to travel to Mexico, San Diego, Palm Springs in the next week. Debating whether or not I should travel. What are other RA patient's thoughts on travel.

Members shared mixed feelings about traveling during the early coronavirus pandemic while living with rheumatoid arthritis and taking immunosuppressive medications like Humira. Several members offered practical advice, including wearing face masks at airports to avoid touching one's face, frequent handwashing, using hand sanitizer and alcohol wipes, limiting exposure to crowds, and ultimately trusting one's own judgment about risk versus necessity. A recurring theme was balancing the need to see family and maintain normalcy with the reality of being immunocompromised, with some choosing to cancel trips while others felt comfortable traveling with precautions.

I say travel. Take extra precautions. I'm going to Seattle this month and am going to wear a face mask at the airport and on the plane. The main reason for the face mask is to remind to keep my hands off of my face. I also always have hand sanitizer ans alcohol wipe in my carry on

I hate to be a debby downer but with this virus being so easily transmitted I would limit my travel for now. I'm being careful about where I go. I do more shopping online (grocery order/pickup) just to stay out of the crowds. But whatever you decide, be conscious of your health and stay safe. God bless

Thank you. My son and DIL need me there to babysit. Also, I need my grandbaby fix. I've always been blessed with a great immune system. I will play it by ear as to what to do. I hope eveyone stays safe and well during this scary outbreak
