I've always gained weight on prednisone. It is the only thing that helps when I have a flare. My RA Dr told me just to know that I will want to eat everything so make sure you have some healthier snacks on hand. Didn't work for me because I just craved cake, pie, cookies, danishes. Gained the weight and thankfully once I was off the prednisone, I was able to lose most of it.

Well, here's something weird. I initially gained a lot of weight. Suddenly I LOST a ton of weight. Then I gained, then I lost. It's always a lot as I go up and down. I cannot control it either way, thought I obviously prefer when the wieght is down, but it goes too far down. For me it goes in cycles. I've been in an up cycle, that is starting to turn downward.
