I was stricken with RA way back in 1997. Doctors knew very little about RA. About a year or so later, my teeth started breaking off & falling out. Within 2 years ,I lost half my teeth. Within 5 years, I developed cataracts, hearing loss & thyroid tumors. In the last couple of years, doctors have realized that these problems are all due to RA. Be vigilant about brushing & flossing. Ask your dentist what else you can do to take care of your teeth.

I, too, have dental issues. I've had so many cracked teeth it's not funny. My latest issues are my jaw and the gums eroding where a tooth had been pulled a few years ago. Very frustrating. I had one implant done a few years ago that did not work. I never should have gotten it but I didn't know that my jaw bone was too weak to support it. I'm at the point where I'd like to have all my teeth pulled and get dentures.

Yeah my teeth have broken so many times i have had them fixed and they break and chip again i have also had a lot of issues with my jaw teeth even though i brush and everything consistently it would make sense if this had to do with the RA

I was told that RA affected the ligaments that hold the teeth and cause crookedness.
