Garvagh

I been taking hydroxychloroquine for about 7 years and my bloods recently are showing a low blood count. Would like to know if my blood results are linked to my medication.

I've been on that drug, a very old one, for.more than 15 years, plus others, and my research and experience days it's very safe. I believe I read about red blood cell issues.on the Arthritis Foundation.org web site. That is my go-to trusted website. The Foundation's bi-monthly magazine Arthritis Today terrific, interesting quick-read articles on latest research, mefs, exercises to help pain and on and on. Great for family and friends with age related arthritis, ways to explain RA, pain solutions, questions to ask your docs.
There is no cure for RA, but things to do to take care of youself. There are herbs under research that can help but NOT by thselves, only as additions to your meds!

Yes like he said, if plaquenil is working for you —thats amazing bc it is the safest drug for RA. I loved that medicine no side effects i could have my occassional adult beverAge didnt make me feel any different even helped the pain some but it was just some and i was still swelling and the disease activity was still high so i had to switch to god awful methexotrate. I am not sure about the blood counts though i do believe it works with the immune system so it wouldnt surprise me if it affected blood counts but RA can also cause anemia in itself.
