Xeljanz (tofacitinib) is an immunomodulator used to treat adults with moderately to severely active rheumatoid arthritis who have had an inadequate response or intolerance to methotrexate. Here are some key points about Xeljanz:

- How it works: Xeljanz inhibits Janus kinases, which are chemicals involved in signaling the immune system to attack the body’s connective tissues.
- Administration: It is taken orally as a tablet once or twice daily.
- Common side effects: Diarrhea, headache, respiratory tract infections, the common cold, and urinary tract infections.
- Serious side effects: There are concerns about heart and cancer risks, especially at higher doses. It also has a black box warning for blood clots, serious infections, and certain cancers.

It's important to monitor for any side effects and discuss them with your healthcare provider.

I was on Xeljanz but I could not tolerate it, gave me alot of stomach issues. But, while I was on it my labs were improved.

I was on Xel-Janz for almost two years. It was great with only minor flares. When it stopped working I was sad to change.
