I was just diagnosed with Pericardial Effusion (fluid and inflammation around the heart) from the RA. I’ve been having chest pain and shortness of breath. Anyone else have this? Doc prescribed anti inflammatories, colchicine and indomethacin. The indomethacin has pretty nasty side effects.
Anyone else have this? What treatments have you had?

I was very short of breath to also was not feeling very well but thank god the fluid around heart disappeared on it’s own I’m sure you will find it normally goes on it’s own I am feeling better now I’m sure you will too xx
Beana77, just read you were feeling better from the meds. Thank GOD. It takes time for fluid to accumulate & it will take time to dry it up or redirect it. Yes, the meds have side effects. Serious prayers and love to you my young precious Warrior.
Paula. Glad your feeling better prayers
Thanks everyone. ER doc and rheumatologist both said it’s definitely from the RA but that it might go away in a few months with the new meds. The shortness of breath and pain is already better from just one day of meds so I’m hopeful.
I’m sure the hospital know your history so won’t ( hopefully) put you at risk of anything.., but understand where your coming from. I often wonder about all my problems and the pills that I take so they help one another ?? I’m okay just sometimes very lethargic, but hey we carry on don’t we? X hugs 🤗
