Does Anyone Else Have Numbness In Your Hands And Feet, And Ringing In Your Ears, All Of Which Gets Worse With Fatigue?

A myRAteam Member asked a question ๐Ÿ’ญ
Minneapolis, MN

My Rheumatologist says it's not from the RA or a side effect of Embrel. My dad has Raynaud's Syndrome, so that's a likely possibility. I'm seeing a Neurologist tomorrow, but wondering if anyone else has had this experience? Thanks!!

Many members responded to the question about numbness in hands and feet and ringing in ears, confirming they experience similar symptoms alongside their rheumatoid arthritis, with several noting that Raynaud's syndrome appears to run in families and often occurs together with RA. Members shared various possible causes including inflammatory flares, circulatory issues, diabetes, carpal tunnel, and nerve compression from spinal injuries, with some finding relief through anti-inflammatory medications or carpal tunnel surgery. A recurring theme was the frustration of overlapping autoimmune conditions making it difficult to pinpoint exact causes, along with reassurance that community members aren't alone in navigating these confusing and often interconnected symptoms.

I have it, I also have RA. My mother had raynauds as well as a couple of my sisters. I donโ€™t know if itโ€™s genetic, but it definitely seems to run in families.

Well, everything I have read says you can have those symptoms with RA. I had similar problems when I was first diagnosed (as a kid) and the only way they got better was with anti-inflammatory meds, aspirin was the drug of choice in the 60's. As the day went on most of the time it got better. Numbness and tingling are also common symptoms of diabetes and circulatory problems. I have diabetes, Lupus and RA and recently diagnosed with circulatory disease in both my legs. I wake up swollen a lot but quite a few times my sugar level was a little higher than normal. When my sugar level is more normal, and I have numbness or tingling , redness and the swelling that's from either a RA or Lupus flare. My doctor has agreed. Soooo.....ask your doctor OR start reading as much information as you can. ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿค

Thanks, Judy! I did see your earlier note and I replied to it. If you click on "view previous answers" above, you'll see both.
This is super-helpful - thank you! Do you have the same symptoms I have - numbness in hands and feet, and ringing in ears?
