Psoriasis Flares

A myRAteam Member asked a question 💭
St Louis, MO

I have had psoriasis on my scalp since I was about 12. I’ve never used any medication for it topical or otherwise and it usually resolved itself within a couple of weeks. However, this past August I had another flare up so scalp psoriasis. In fact it is the worse flare I ever had and for the first time I broke out all over my body. It started with a small section on one of my legs and both of my forearms. Within a few days it had spread so I went to the dermatologist who confirmed the skin… read more

Hi Kita723,

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. I don't have any valuable information for you, I have rheumatoid arthritis and you have psoriasis, our treatments are definitely different.

Keep good track of medications, always communicate with your doctors and hope you feel better soon.

I've been thinking remicade may be my next request, because RA pain isn't under control at all, unfortunately. Seeing pain clinic Dr today too.

@A myRAteam Member thank you for your insight. I’ve added you to my team as well. 6 to 8 months, ouch. Well on the bright side I guess I’m already halfway there! I’m really hoping that Otezla works for me because my docs are thinking that I may need to go on humuria next which I’m hesitant to do because Remicade has been really good for my RA and I don’t want to be dealing with an increase in RA symptoms while trying to adjust to a new med all while trying to figure out this PsA stuff. I’m so glad you’ve got everything under control. I’m probably going to bombard you with tons of questions lol. For the life of me, I cannot drill down what triggered this flare but I’m praying that whatever it was that I won’t be faced with it again any time soon. My condolences on the loss of your cousin and grandmother.

@A myRAteam Member thank you for kind words, encouragement and advice.
