When I brought it up to my rheumy she said my blood work is good so didn't feel it is associated with the RA or PSA. Was focused more on how my sleeping is. So my question is, even if my blood work is good and showing that the meds are working in keeping the disease under control, would fatigue still be a side effect from the disease and/or meds?
I take B12 daily. I find that for me 1500mcg works best.
Hi.
Your body is still fighting the disease even though the meds mite be working. Try some dextrose (energy tablets ) there helpful
my blood-work is text book perfect other than having a rheumatoid number of 650. I get killer fatigue, but I started taking vitamin B complex, D3, and calcium, and I've noticed that I have a bit more energy - it didn't cure me, but I do feel like doing more things than before.
In my opinion, yes. I think we all suffer from excessive fatigue whether taking RA meds or not, I think it is just one more symptom, but check with your rheumy next time you see her and get an experts opinion. Glad that your meds are working. Vera
I have the same issue and have been faced with these and similar issuse. It's almost like my doc becomes myopic, as long as I'm taking what he has prescribed and my blood work is good the fatigue couldn't possibly from RA/Psa...as he said "the RA /Psa is in check" BUT i have had instance after a bit of persuasion on my part (bitching & complaining) I have found that you can suffer from something called "methotrexate hangover" Because of my complaining and submitting to tests like for sleep disturbance/apnea and coming up empty pushing to look for more is like dragging the doc both up & down hill at times. In addition, opening conversations on other possible causes like fibromyalgia and other root causes can be revealed. I asked if my doc worked with a specialist or partner that i could get some second opinions from. This was enlightning. I try to learn as much as i can and ask what I think are logical questions but what it comes down to is becoming your own advocate. Don't suffer in silence, ask questions until you feel you have exhausted all avenues. We may not get everything answered but we shouldn't be wondering quietly either. This forum is a great start to share info & make connections. All the best and be well.
