I asked to have a scan done because of steroids and being on for 6 mths, and my mom had it. I have osteoporosis but it is highest in femor neck, I am afraid this is due to the steroids but I do not want to take the medicines so I am looking into exercise and speak with a naturopathic doctor see if any other options

Yes, I have severe osteoporosis. I have a Reclast Infusion once a year. It’s a 15 minute Infusion. No big deal.
I had thinking of my left hip. I also had a complete hysterectomy when I was 36. I had a bone density test when I was first diagnosed and was put on meds. I just had another density test and they said it looked good. But told me I have osteoarthritis in my hip
I just found out but thats what I have started is squats for one as its my hip thats the highest at 3. Not sure what that means, but I think on the dexa 2.5 and over is osteoporosis. Yep, I am going to try not to take that boniva and other because alot of reviews say its maybe 30% effective then all the horrible side effects. What we have to take for Ra is bad enough! Be careful with the steroids! He gave me 3 shots high dose within 6 mths. and I think that is why it is effecting my hip as steroids tend to go there. Hang in there!
I havent' decided if I am going to take medicine or not yet. I hate the meds for RA without all the other omg, this stinks for sure. I am so against taking any of the drugs for anything, Maybe I will for a year or so, but the necrosis in the jaw and still can have fractures makes me not want to at all. Thanks everyone for the feed back
I have severe osteoporosis. I take Prolia shots. Been on steroids for several years. Hips & back are in bad condition.
