Hi all
I am about to embark on the BIG Disneyland trip with my 8 year old grandson, husband, son and his girlfriend. 2 days of Disney, 1 day California adventure, then on to legoland in San Diego, then sea world. This is the big trip that we have promised my grandson since he was born. My 3 doctors say I have to go now if I want to go. This will probably be my last big trip anywhere. I am very undecided as to whether or not I should take my wheel chair, that I only use on occasions like… read more

Members rallied around someone preparing for a dream Disneyland trip despite fears about managing rheumatoid arthritis and IBD at the parks, offering practical strategies that included bringing extra prednisone or a medrol dose pack in case of flares, utilizing Disney's fast pass system to reduce wait times and physical strain, and either bringing a personal wheelchair or renting a motorized scooter at the park. Several members emphasized that bathrooms are plentiful throughout Disney, that park staff are helpful and accommodating, and that taking frequent breaks is essential to conserving energy for the whole family. A recurring theme was encouragement to go despite the fears, prioritize comfort and security over pride, and focus on creating precious memories with loved ones rather than worrying about limitations.

You can book a motorised buggy before you go and that speeds things up on arrival. I thought it was great and it allowed me to keep up with others . Have a wonderful time!

Any trip I take I always bring prednisone. That way I can do a little bit more than I normally can. You may not need it but its fast acting if you fo. Disney is huge and if you have to use a wheelchair/scooter don't let it upset you. It's all about wonderful memories with your family. Plus take lots of breaks.and have a great time.

I say take whatever you need to so you feel secure and unstressed. Take the wheel chair and hope that you don't need it. Have great fun on your trip
