I found dark cherries calm arthritis for me. What do y'all use that helps? I am gardening and trying new things. I heard spicy foods help growing peppers this year.

I’ve read that night shade plants are a no no fir inflammation so bell peppers are not good. Turmeric is a great anti inflammatory though

Capsaician (hot pepper) is in some pain relieving formulas, but because it's a night shade, not everyone can use it. It always made me feel like my skin was on fire. Cherries are good--glad to see they help calm your RA. Any fruits and veggies you can eat will help--if you listen to different health people they tend to contradict each other, so you have to find what works well for you. Some do better with lightly steamed or raw veggies. Any leafy greens (foliage) are good for you. Cooked root veggies are easier to digest than raw root veggies. I love all fruit--never met one I didn't like! For anyone who has trouble digesting raw fruits and veggies, making them into a smoothie helps get a head start on the digestion. (I like to do a pint of strawberries, a pint of spinach/kale/or leaf lettuce, 1/2 avocado, other fruit like blueberries or mangos, unsweetened coconut milk yogurt, and about 1/4 c ground flax seed or ground chia seed--this makes enough smoothies for me to take to work M-F.

The exact same thing happened to me. It lasted for about a year but now I try to eat some spicy food little by little I'm able to eat hotter. Just give it time, but keep trying to eat some spicy food.

Since getting RA I can not eat anything spicy , it causes instant blisters in my mouth. Sure do miss eating spicy foods.

yes, smoothies. I make a fruit smoothie in the a.m. Coconut milk, plain greek yogurt, banana, cherries, or whatever fruits and berries in the house. also add some vanilla and wheat germ. That and 2 scrambled eggs is breakfast.

For lunch I make a veggie shake; mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, a little chicken broth, spinach or any green leafy vegs. With a protein; chicken or tuna sometimes a little lean beef, it makes a filling lunch. Oh yeah, some melba toast on the side or a bit of rice is very good, too.
