I've heard it's good to exercise with this condition. Why? Obviously, exercise is good for you in general. But does it actually help RA in any particular way? Thx!

Without the excerize that I do I would get so stiff and more painful. I do 3 a week, I walk with a walking group, in a group you walk further because you have people to talk to, aqua aerobics, because you are in water the water takes the strain so you're not hurting as bad, and chair yoga, It's so relaxing, but you still get a good stretch, apart from the lessons I also walk by myself. Yes excerize is good fo r you, so is taking vitamins! Hugs to all

Exercise is really important when you have ra! It helps strengthen our muscles which helps my balance! I can no longer exercise on land so I now to the YMCA! They have a arthritis water exercise class! It’s really for anyone you has chronic pain! They follow guidelines issued by the National Arthritis Foundation! There is no jumping or jogging! We walk in the water doubt various exercises and we also do exercises using our arms and hands! It has helped me so much! It also has been great for me emotionally! I have made new friends who truly know what llivin* with ra is all about! Some folks in the class have ra others has osteo, or chronic back pain! I move so much better in the water with less pain! It’s been a blessing to me! I would highly recommend to anyone!

I find that exercise builds muscle that help stabilize some joints. Also, helps maintain range of motion and helps me sleep better at night.
